Warwick Hedge Fund Society was created to give students a new way to engage with the Financial industry. We pride ourselves on hosting some of the most professional and informative events at Warwick, with opportunities for members to access and network with industry professionals. We offer our members hands-on experience through our highly competitive stock pitch events, in addition to interactive speaker events for those who just want to learn more about finance and investing.
We’re a co-founder of the UK Finance League, a stock pitch competition involving a number of prestigious universities across the UK, and the Premier Global Invitational, where we compete against the most elite Investment Clubs from across the U.S. in front of legendary investors.

WHFS is founded with the goal of providing students an opportunity to learn more about the Financial industry.

Our first ever Alpha X pitch is held, where 8 WHFS teams pitched in front of 100+ guests to the Head of Asset Allocation at Barclays Wealth & Investments, a Portfolio Manager at Heitman, and an Equity Analyst at Schroeder’s
Our 2nd Alpha X competition is held, where our 8 teams pitched to the Head of European Insurance Equity Research for JP Morgan, Head of European Equities at ABRDN, and the Head of CEEMA Research at Deutsche Bank. This competition served as a “qualifying round” for the UK Finance League
WHFS makes history as the co-founder of the UK Finance League, the UK’s only inter-university stock pitch competition, sponsored by Fidelity Investments and SEO London. We invited investment clubs from Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL and Loughborough to compete in front of 100+ attendees. Our team from WHFS ranked 2nd place in this competition.
After an incredible year of growth, WHFS ends the year with 2,117 followers, 32+ Analysts, 600 Members, and 5 unique divisions.

Our Intro to WHFS event is presented to over 350 Analyst applicants. We host a number of high-turnout speaker events, inviting guests from Bank of America, Blackrock and more!
WHFS consolidates its Analyst cohort to 7 teams, attracting 28 Analysts from a pool over over 220 applicants.
Our Analysts go at it again with the 3rd round of Alpha X, pitching to judges from Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley, Franklin Templeton and T.Row Price
History is made yet again, as WHFS hosts - and wins - the world’s first and only Premier Global Invitational stock pitch competition. This inaugural event brought together 90 competitors from the most elite investment clubs at Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Berkeley, Cornell and Warwick. Our teams pitched to legendary Value Investors including David Einhorn (part of TIME Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World”), Mohnish Pabrai (CEO of Pabrai Investment Funds) and Vivek Gandhi (Portfolio Manager at Putnam Investments).
Our 4th Alpha X competition is hosted, alongside the 2nd iteration of the UK Finance League in collaboration with CapitOx. Our founding Board members also step down as WHFS hosts its first elections, with Aaron Maes, Anthony McKevier, Nikhil Kurien, Sukhdeep Singh and Dhivarkar Vijayachandran being elected to the Board.
